McIver Parcel Charrette
An open-to-the public, seven day intensive design workshop to plan the McIver Parcel.
May 3-9, 2000

A closing note: We would like to thank the hundreds of Truckee citizens who came by our studio, stopped in for the nightly public review sessions, or attended the closing presentation. You pointed out our mistakes, shared your local knowledge and told us much about the things that Truckee's locals value. We know that our design doesn't solve every problem and probably still has its share of mistakes, but we hope that it has been made much better through your input. In the next few days, we will be posting the full content of the closing presentation on this web site.

The charrette, of course, has been just the first step. In the coming weeks, we will be doing follow-up technical analyses and writing a formal application to the Town of Truckee for the project. Once that application is submitted, the Town's own formal process of public input and environmental review will begin. Again, our thanks for your help in bringing us this far. We were privileged to work with people as civil and as thoughtful as you, and we hope that the design we have created so far does right by your town.

- Patrick Siegman, on behalf of the entire design team.
